Executive Biographies

Laurie E. Cohn, Principal

Ms. Laurie Cohn is co-founder of Aspire Consulting, Ltd., a company committed to helping individuals and organizations strive to discover personal and professional opportunities and create measurable improvements which enhance long-term organizational success. 

Her passion and experience come from her highly successful 34 year career in the healthcare field where she held numerous managerial and leadership positions. As an organizational leader, she had extensive responsibilities in managing people and systems including administrative, operational and fiscal responsibilities for several nationally recognized and successful clinical departments and programs throughout the region.

Laurie has a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and has been continually active in her chosen clinical profession. In addition, she is an active volunteer for Dutchess ARC and serves as the chairperson of the agency's Membership Committee. Laurie is a reviewer for one of the largest providers of evidence-based guidelines to the healthcare industry. As an active volunteer, Laurie supports many functions at Dutchess ARC, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Vassar Warner Home, and is a New York Certified long-term care Ombudsman.

As a leader in the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Laurie is co-chair of the Education Committee as well as a member of the Women's Leadership Alliance, serving on the Mentoring Subcommittee. Laurie is also a member of the Mid-Hudson Women's Network.

Aspire Consulting is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Northern Westchester Geriatric Committee, the Putnam/Dutchess Geriatric Committees, and the Central Westchester Geriatric Committee.

Susan L. Lauer, Principal

Susan L. LauerMs. Susan Lauer is co-founder of Aspire Consulting, Ltd., a company committed to helping individuals and organizations that strive to discover personal and professional opportunities and create measurable improvements which enhance long-term organizational success. 

Her highly successful 25 year career in the healthcare field has strengthened her commitment to life-long professional and personal development. She has held numerous leadership positions with responsibilities that included managing personnel and systems across the health care continuum. She has been a clinical instructor and guest lecturer at the graduate level and has served as an expert in legal proceedings.

Susan has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut, an Advanced Masters degree with a clinical specialty in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and a Masters in Public Administration from Long Island University. She is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.

Susan is a contributing author for the newly released “A Common Sense Approach to Sustainability", a book about accelerating your profitability through aligning your people and processes with the environment.

Susan was a writer for one of the largest provider of evidence-based guidelines to the healthcare industry and the Institute for Sustainability and the Total Quality Institute. She has also written for national, regional and local publications, with topics ranging from clinical to leadership and strategic planning.

Susan is an affiliate of the Women Business Leaders of the US Healthcare Industry Foundation and the American College of Healthcare Executives and Resource Associates Corporation. She is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee, and on the Health Care Leaders of NY membership and web site committees.

Susan is a member of the founding leadership group of Community Helping Hands, Ossining, NY, an aging in place organization, and a member of the Communities that Care Coalition, Ossining NY.

Sharon Russitano, Director of Technology & Communications Susan L. Lauer

Sharon joined Aspire Consulting in 2007. Her experience in the not-for-profit and corporate environment strengthened her desire to help build, shape and achieve organizational goals. Her passion to develop and implement real solutions is built on insight, experience and a track record of success. She has hands-on, in depth experience in the Healthcare, Education, Business Services, and Finance sectors.

Sharon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marist College and a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Long Island University. In addition, Sharon holds New York State Teacher Certificates in K-6, and Special Education, as well as advanced training and experience with multiple technology platforms. Sharon is a member of the Board of Directors of Dutchess ARC, a member of the Outreach and Vocations committees at Dutchess ARC, and a volunteer at Saint Francis Hospital.
